Group therapy is led by a licensed therapist and is a clinical treatment.   Group facilitation is different. It is a structured, guided group process focused on nervous system regulation, somatic tools, and shared experience. The facilitator creates the container and guides the conversation, but does not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical care.   Think of it less like a treatment room and more like a structured community space where the group itself does the healing work.

Co-regulation is what happens when one nervous system influences another through safe, attuned presence. It is biology, not metaphor.   When you are in a genuinely safe group, one with structure, consistency, and a regulated facilitator, your nervous system receives signals it cannot generate alone. Heart rate settles. Breathing shifts. The body begins to understand that safety is possible.   This is why healing in community reaches places that solo work sometimes cannot.
